Terms & Conditions for the Somatic Trauma Therapy training

Booking on this course is done by paying the Deposit of £500. Places are limited to 24 and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
Please note that all deposits are non-refundable.
Once you are booked on the course, we will contact you to arrange for payment of the remaining fee.
There will be two payment options:
You can pay the remaining fee in full by one calendar month before the start of the course at the latest.
Or you can set up a standing order for 10 monthly instalments to begin one calendar month before the start of the course. This will spread the cost of the training.
If your organisation is paying for you, we will expect the full fee to be paid one calendar month before the start of the course.
Please be aware that unless we have received at least the first instalment of your fee one calendar month before the course starts, you will lose your place on the course.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COURSE IS NOT A SERIES OF MODULES BUT A CONTINUOUS COURSE. THE CONTINUITY OF THE GROUP IS IMPORTANT, SO YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WITH THE SAME GROUP THAT YOU STARTED WITH.
Please note: You need to make a commitment to attend all 12 days. If you cannot attend parts 2 or 3, we will be unable to fill your place with anyone else. Therefore you need to pay all fees in full at the time scheduled even if unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending
The training course will take place LIVE on Zoom. We will not record the course and participants need to be online at the set times.
We can now offer subtitles (closed captions) in a range of languages other than English. The range is given by current options available on Zoom.
We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate anybody with additional learning needs. We encourage participants to disclose any such needs that they may have well before the start of the course, and to make as much use as possible of their peers in the group and of the Assistants who will be present during the training, in order to help them have a good experience.
Training modules are conducted with a combination of lectures, discussions, film, exercises, video and live demonstrations, role-played therapy practices and client consultations. There are no slides on this course. You are required to take your own notes.
As this is a professional training, we ask participants NOT to work on their own material. Skills practices will be frequent and you will be asked to role-play a client.
Ahead of the course, the reading that we recommend is The Body Remembers and Revolutionizing Trauma Therapy, Babette’s two most important books. The remaining titles on the reading list on the course flyer are intended as suggestions and you can follow your own interests.
There will be detailed reading assignments for parts 2 and 3.
There will be some handouts for part 2 that will be sent to everybody, but not for parts 1 or 3. For part 1, you will receive a laminated card of Babette’s Autonomic Nervous System Table in the post as a gift.
